The Fundamentals of Structural and Design Quality Checks at Pavilion Structure

The steel construction industry is intricately linked with the aspect of collective security. Quality assurance is, therefore, one of the fundamental constituents. At Pavilion Structure, our quality inspection team pursues a rigorous quality check on the following parameters.

  1. Evaluating the raw materials

First and foremost, our expert team pays special attention to the evaluation of the raw materials. Our experts ensure that the specification and performance of steel products conform to the extant product standards and design requisites across the country.

We ensure that the steel cutting surface is free of cracks, dents, delamination and 1mm missing edges. Our experts on steel structures design in Canada maintain a strict vigilance on specific temperature conditions while processing the steel component.

  1. Steel component welding

Pavilion Structure ensures that the performance quotient of the welding materials stick to the national product standards. Our welders are certified and engaged within the scope of their training. Apart from that, we carry out a rigorous welding procedure evaluation.

Welds needed for design purposes are thoroughly checked for the presence of cracks, slags, pores and scratches. Our team ensures there are no flaws on the surface of first-grade welds.

  1. Assembly of steel components

According to current standards, the crane beam and its truss should be erected during inspection. Again, the exterior dimensions of the steel components should be examined with a steel ruler.

The standard flatness of the milling plane should be 0.3 mm. The length of deviation of the steel component when the end is flattened should be 2.0 mm.

  1. Adequate rustproof treatment

Our team reviews the quality certification documents and anticorrosive coating elements. According to the current standards, surface treatment should be done in accordance with the ten per cent of the total number of components. Again, it is crucial to perform the coating in layers.

Upon coating, our team inspects the thickness of each component by a thickness gauge.

  1. Adequate fireproof coatings

Our team inspects fireproof coatings for tensile strength, bond strength, and other relative aspects. Layered coating is another fundamental step which our experts carry out.

It is vital to clean up the surface of fireproof coatings before painting. According to the current design requirements, over eighty per cent of the surface area should conform to the design requisites of the fire-resistance limit. Pavilion Structure keeps tabs on such specifics accordingly.
