Pavilion supplied 25 sand and salt storage buildings to highway maintenance companies throughout Western Canada. These sand and salt storage buildings were required by government mandate to reduce the environmental exposure at each location. Pavilion was able to offer a wide range of fabric building sizes and arrangements to accommodate the needs of each individual site.
Requirements at each site varied from amount of salt and sand storage required which resulted in a different size of fabric building specified for the site. The salt and sand storage buildings protect the large piles stored within them from the elements, avoiding such environmental issues as wind blown and water borne salt.
The larger buildings, due to their size, and the clear-span nature of the building design, permit loading of salt and sand maintenance equipment within the protected environment of the building. Preventing rain and melting snow from coming into contact with the salt reduces the lumping and potential clogging of salt and sand spreading trucks making for more efficient use during times of critical need.
Pavilion was able to meet the crucial time sensitive needs of the client and met NASA and ATK’s strict purchaser requirements. Pavilion completed the project on time and on budget. Pavilion was able to provide all site-specific fabric structure engineering, and designed the fabric structure to accommodate the large custom doors the client required.
